As a game developer myself, I know just how hard it'd be to try and replicate ALL of the systems in SS2, I wasn't just speculating if Night dive would do it, as it's pretty clear that even if we do get the slightest chance of getting a SS2 Remake, it'll take years before we get a hint at its development. If a proper SS2 remake were ever to be made, it would be a job for a full-size studio like Arkane, not an indie outfit like Night Dive. So the SS1 remake approach of 'same abstract retro levels but detailed out the wazoo' simply wouldn't work. SS2 is from the era when game engines were just beginning to be able to depict realistic real-world environments.
